Brian Clive Johnston

October 27, 1961 - August 3, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Clive Johnston, “Clive” to his friends and family. After a courageous battle with cancer, Clive’s suffering ended on August 3, 2023, at the age of 61 years.

Among many other family members and friends, Clive will be remembered by his wife Erlinda, daughter Chanel, son Cody, and brothers Peter (Jo-Ann) and David. He was the first-born son of the late Brian and Frances Johnston.

Clive was born in Victoria B.C. in 1961 but grew up in Vancouver when his parents relocated there in 1964. Clive attended Van Horne Elementary School and Eric Hamber Secondary School. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UBC in 1985 and a Certificate in Financial Planning from B.C.I.T. in 2003.

Clive’s career in the financial sector led him to work for such notable companies as RBC Dominion Securities, Canaccord Financial, and Coast Capital Savings. He held numerous positions as a Wealth and Investment Advisor, Portfolio Manager, and Internal Wholesaler within these companies.

Clive was an avid amateur guitarist and was always seeking an audience to play for. He also enjoyed golf in the summertime and encouraged his children to take up the game. He was a regular attendee of his high school reunions and maintained friendships with many of his schoolmates throughout his life.

Clive will certainly be missed and will surely be remembered with fondness by his family and many friends. The Lozano and Johnston families would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Surrey Memorial Hospital and the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care Centre for the healthcare they provided during his battle with Lymphoma.
