Jeannie (Gin Yee) Tam

With sadness we announce the passing of Jeannie (Gin Yee)Tam on May 8 at Langley Hospice Residences. After a valiant fight of 16 months with cancer, Jeannie passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Jeannie is survived by her husband Stephen, daughter Christina, son Robert, sister Winnie, and brothers Gordon, Barry, Paul and Larry.

Jeannie was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Port Alberni. She worked at McDonald's Restaurant and the Vancouver Aquarium financing her BA at UBC. After graduation, she worked at Unemployment Insurance offices at Employment Canada.

When her 2 kids were older, she went back to school at Trinity Western University to obtain her ELL teaching certificate. She worked for the Langley School District for 21 years as an ELL teacher. After retiring, Jeannie enjoyed volunteering at Langley Centennial Museum and singing in a seniors choir. She loved to cook gourmet meals and dining out at fine restaurants.

There will be no services as per Jeannie's request. Please respect our privacy to allow us to grieve.
