It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Nancy Fernandes on August 29, 2023. 

Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1943, Nancy made a name for herself as the first female secondary school administrator in District 43 (Coquitlam). 

Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Tony. She is survived by her sons, Kyle Hedlund (Vika) and Scott Hedlund, granddaughter Mackenzie, and sisters Mary Williamson and Winnie Bradford.

Nancy and Tony are both remembered with love by many relatives and friends in Canada and around the world. Their cremated remains will be commingled so that they may be reunited. 

A Celebration of Life will be held for Nancy on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm at the Coquitlam School District Education Learning Centre, 1080 Winslow Avenue, Coquitlam, BC V3J 0M6. All are welcome to attend. 

In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice. Nancy regularly donated to Share Family & Community Services, Food Banks BC, Knowledge Network, and SPARC BC.
