Israr Ahmed Burney

Israr Ahmed Burney, 73 years old, of Vancouver BC, passed away on February 21, 2024 after a sudden heart attack.

Israr was born on May 25, 1951, to Mohammad Rafiq Burney and Hashmat Bibi in Pakistan.

In 1976, Israr met Anees Bano in Karachi. Israr and Anees went on to have 6 children, Sara, Faiza, Fariha, Javeria, Asher, and Asra.

In 2015, Israr retired and moved to Canada, spending his time caring for his grandchildren.

Israr was predeceased by Mohammad Rafiq Burney, Hashmat Bibi, Abdulaziz Burney, Abrar Burney, Zahoor Burney, Anees Burney. He is survived by Mukhtar Burney.

He was the most caring father, grandfather, husband, and father-in-law, unreservedly loving and selfless. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon.

Services will be held at Surrey Jamea Masjid on Friday at 1:30PM. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests Dua-e-Magfirat for him.
